International Business Machines Corp. and Oracle Corp. have signed a joint marketing agreement to offer a variety of products and services to banking companies around the world.
The two technology giants said Wednesday that they will start with the Flexcube core banking application from i-flex solutions ltd., a Mumbai vendor majority owned by Oracle. The application is now available on IBM’s System Z mainframes.
Mark Greene, IBM’s general manager for global business, said his company and Oracle have worked together frequently on customer projects. “We’re taking what had been a casual friendship and making it more strategic.”
