In Brief: Ind. Bank Plans 7.5% Payroll Cut

CFS Bancorp Inc. in Munster, Ind., is planning to trim its work force by about 7.5%, a move that it said would reduce its salary and benefit expenses by about $1.3 million a year.

A Securities and Exchange Commission filing Tuesday said that the $1.3 billion-asset company is taking a $277,000 charge to first-quarter earnings to cover termination-related expenses.
