In Brief: InsureZone Merges With Texas Agency

SAN FRANCISCO - The insurance Web site InsureZone has merged its operations with Higginbotham & Associates, a Fort Worth agency.

InsureZone, which offers a call center, sells commercial property and casualty insurance, including workers' compensation and commercial auto, from Hartford, Kemper, Safeco, Chubb, and Travelers.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but InsureZone has said it expects to generate $20 million of revenue and show a profit by yearend.

InsureZone also said the transaction creates a Web distribution network for the carriers represented by Higginbotham.
