In Brief: Juno, National InterBank in Joint Venture

IRVINE, Calif. — Juno, the country’s third-largest provider of dial-up Internet services after America Online and Earthlink, said Monday that it has added a banking center to its Web site.

National InterBank, which offers private-label banking services for Internet businesses and affinity groups, created and will maintain the Juno Banking Center.

National InterBank is offering Juno’s 3.7 million subscribers access to its products and services at a cobranded version of the National InterBank Web site. Initial offerings include free bill payment; high-interest checking, savings accounts and certificates of deposit; low-interest mortgage and home equity loans; free shipping of deposit checks at 3,000 Mail Boxes, Etc. locations; and free ATM use worldwide.

National InterBank will work with Juno to promote the Juno Banking Center to Juno’s subscriber base. Marketing activities will include promotional advertising and links on Juno’s Web portal, as well as e-mail and advertisements in Juno software.
