In Brief: Lehman Brothers Buys Cohane Rafferty

NEW YORK — Lehman Brothers Inc. announced Friday that it had acquired the investment bank Cohane Rafferty Securities LLC.

The price was not disclosed.

Cohane Rafferty specializes in merger and acquisition advisory services to the mortgage banking industry and in asset brokerage, and mortgage servicing brokerage and analytics. It is based in White Plains, N.Y., and has offices in Massachusetts, Michigan, and New Jersey.

Cohane Rafferty will retain its name and headquarters, and will be an independent operating unit of Lehman Brothers, the investment bank said.
