REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - Lloyds TSB has launched, a portal for its small-business customers.

It provides access to industry, regulatory, and legal information, as well as an online directory of businesses and Internet banking services.

Lloyds uses personalization software from BroadVision Inc. to customize the portal's services to the needs of individual businesses based on their "life stage." For example, some services are for companies that are just starting out, while others are for those trying to expand themselves or simplify operations, Lloyds said.

Jeremy Hayward, director of the portal, said the British banking company selected BroadVision's software because of its strong collaboration features and the fact that it helps companies bring transactional sites to market quickly. "BroadVision's contribution allows us to dynamically create content and provide solutions that benefit the individual company."

BroadVision, which was founded in 1993 and went public in 1996, has more than 1,200 customers.
