In Brief: Merrill Exec Heads to Leveraged Buyout Firm

David Webb, managing director of Merrill Lynch & Co.'s financial sponsors coverage group, has left the company, sources said Wednesday.

Mr. Webb, an 18-year veteran at Merrill, is joining Brera Capital Partners, a New York investment company specializing in leveraged buyouts. Brera is expected to announce the appointment Thursday.

The Merrill group serves leveraged buyout shops. No successor for Mr. Webb has been named.
