In Brief: National City Names Private-Client Lender

National City Corp., Cleveland, this week named a new head of the private-client group for northwestern Ohio.

Robert A. Robinson succeeds David Ridenour, who retired in March, the banking company said.

Mr. Robinson, who is an executive vice president at the $81 billion- asset company, most recently worked in retail banking at National City.

In his new role, Mr. Robinson will lead the bank's private-client effort in Toledo. He will report to Allen Loomis, who heads a team in the bank's private-client group that covers Toledo, Akron, Dayton, and Columbus, a spokeswoman said.

National City has offices in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois.
