In Brief: Northwest Acquiring Pa. Brokerage Office

WARREN, Pa. - Northwest Savings Bank announced on Jan. 12 that it has agreed to acquire the Warren office of First Affiliated Investment Group, a State College investment management firm, for an undisclosed price.

The office would be part of Northwest Financial Services, which provides financial consulting and brokerage services through Uvest Investment Services, a Charlotte, N.C., third-party marketer.

The deal is expected to close next month.

Gregory C. LaRocca, senior vice president at Northwest Savings, said the deal is part of the bank's plan to expand its investment offerings throughout its service area. Northwest Financial operates four brokerage offices in Pennsylvania.

Northwest Savings is a subsidiary of $3.5 billion-asset Northwest Bancorp, which also owns Jamestown Savings Bank.
