Northwest Bancorp Inc. in Warren, Pa., agreed to buy Penn Laurel Financial Corp. in Curwensville for $32.7 million in cash.
Penn Laurel is the $231 million-asset parent of CSB Bank, which has four branches in Clearfield County and one in Elk County. Those branches would become part of Northwest Savings Bank, which has one branch in Clearfield and seven in Elk.
In all, the $6.5 billion-asset Northwest Bancorp has 160 branches, in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, Ohio, and Florida.
The two companies announced their deal Friday.
