Norwest Bank Texas and H-E-B Grocery Co. have agreed to open full-service Norwest financial service centers in H-E-B stores in Texas. The centers will offer access to a wide variety of financial services during evening and weekend hours.
The financial centers will range from 150 to 600 square feet. The first will open this summer in Austin, with San Antonio locations next year and additional centers over the next several years.
Founded in 1905 in Kerrville, Tex., H-E-B operates 249 stores in 122 communities throughout Texas and in Monterrey, Mexico, and Lake Charles, La.
Norwest has 176 banking stores in 99 Texas communities, with total assets of $10 billion. The bank has a pending acquisition of First Bank, Katy, Tex., a $310 million commercial bank with 10 locations.
