In Brief: Oneida of N.Y. Plans to Buy 2 Agencies

ONEIDA, N.Y. — Oneida Financial Corp., parent of Oneida Savings Bank, has executed a letter of intent to buy an insurance agency in its hometown and has an agreement to purchase a second to add to the one it already owns, Bailey and Haskell Associates.

The two agencies it intends to buy are Noyes & LaLonde, with offices in the central New York State towns of Oneida and Liverpool, and the Dunn Agency Inc. in Marcy, N.Y. Noyes and LaLonde sells auto, homeowners, and life insurance, and Dunn sells auto, homeowners, and commercial lines.

After the deals close, Oneida will merge the three agencies and name the unit the Bailey Haskell & LaLonde Agency. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
