PNC Financial Services Group Inc. has licensed a portfolio of patents covering interactive voice technologies from Ronald A. Katz Technology Licensing LP to settle a patent infringement lawsuit.
Katz, of Los Angeles, announced the settlement Tuesday, without disclosing the dollar value. It announced a similar agreement last week with LaSalle Bank Corp. of Chicago, the U.S. subsidiary of ABN Amro Holding NV.
Katz has aggressively protected its patents, which are typically used in call centers. It has said that more than 150 companies have licensed its patents, including American Express Co., Bank of America Corp., BB&T Corp., Equifax Inc., First Data Corp., and Wells Fargo & Co.
