The Atlanta online bill payment vendor CheckFree Corp. plans to use risk-based authentication software from RSA Security Inc., a Bedford, Mass., unit of EMC Corp.
CheckFree said Monday that it would use RSA's software in conjunction with its own FraudNet system, which detects fraudulent online bill payments. CheckFree also will feed data into RSA's eFraudNetwork, which pools observations from various clients to track fraud trends across online banking sites.
CheckFree said it processed 235.7 million bill payments from online banking sites in its first fiscal quarter, which ended Sept. 30.
