The security software vendor Actimize Inc. has agreed to make its products compatible with technology from 41st Parameter Inc.
Actimize, a New York company, said last week that it would support the use of 41st Parameter's PCPrint in its own products. PCPrint evaluates the hardware and network settings of devices that are connected to the Internet, to produce a unique record of the device. This record can later be used for authentication or fraud detection. It does not use software cookies or require the end user to enroll.
Customers of Actimize will be able to use this method as part of their transaction monitoring and fraud-detection schemes. 41st Parameter is based in Scottsdale, Ariz.
