South Umpqua Bank, Roseburg, Ore., said it has won a contract to install eight automated teller machines in Price Chopper grocery stores in southern Oregon.

The five-year contract will raise the number of South Umpqua's ATMs to 40, said Ray Davis, president and chief executive of the $319 million-asset bank. "This is our first run at grocery stores," Mr. Davis said. "It's tough for us little guys to get in there."

As part of the deal, South Umpqua will be allowed to place its signs outside the stores. Both parties will share surcharge income from noncustomers who use the machines.
