In Brief: Study to Examine the Use of Credit Scoring

Robert Morris Associates and the consulting group BenchMark 2000 are studying how small-business lenders use credit scoring.

The study will examine how credit scoring is used differently for specific loan products or segments of the small-business market and how banks design marketing campaigns to promote credit scoring.

Mark Zmiewski, Robert Morris' director of information research, said he hopes 50 banks will participate in the study, which will be completed next summer.
