SunGard Data Systems Inc. has acquired Automated Financial Systems Corp., its second acquisition in as many days.
SunGard, of Wayne, Pa., announced the purchase Wednesday. AFS provides hardware and software for the retail brokerage industry. Its products include the Investpoint broker workstation.
On Tuesday, SunGard said it had bought the Chinese financial software company Shanghai Fudan Kingstar Computer Co. Ltd.
SunGard said AFS would join its brokerage and clearance business. Gerard Murphy, the unit's president, said in a press release that "AFS' proven front-office applications complement our existing WealthStation offering for retail brokerage, clearing, bank, trust, insurance, and independent firms." The price was not disclosed for either acquisition.
