In Brief: System for Comparing Loan Scores with Others'

Mortgage Information Corp. and Equifax Mortgage Services Inc. have begun a pilot program meant to let lenders compare credit scores on their loans to those made by competitors.

Atlanta-based Equifax, a leading vendor of credit information, will provide its proprietary credit scoring system, Mortgage Score, as a module of Mortgage Information's loan performance system, which uses a data base of more than 20 million loans.

Users will be able to compare credit scores and track how they change over time, according to an announcement.

Chase Manhattan Mortgage Corp., a client of both partners, will be one of the participants in the pilot, Mortgage Information said.
