SEATTLE - Washington Mutual Inc. announced that its head of technology, S. Liane Wilson, will leave the company in March to pursue personal interests.
A 15-year Wamu veteran, Ms. Wilson, 57, has overseen the integration of 23 financial institutions. The company has begun a nationwide search for a successor.
She most recently played a role in signing an $8 million deal with iPlanet E-commerce Solutions, formerly the Sun-Netscape Alliance, to build Wamu's Internet infrastructure. The technology company is upgrading Wamu's internal communications network and connecting it to the Internet. IPlanet is also working with Wamu on wireless and electronic procurement initiatives.
