In Brief: Tsui Passing Baton at First Hawaiian

HONOLULU - First Hawaiian Bank announced that its president and chief operating officer, John K. (Jack) Tsui, will retire at yearend and be succeeded by vice chairman Don Horner.

Mr. Tsui, 64, has held his position at the BancWest Corp. subsidiary since 1994, when he joined from rival Bank of Hawaii. He pushed improvements to the bank's credit underwriting process, supervised its syndicated lending and commercial real estate portfolios, and oversaw its financial management unit.

Mr. Tsui is also retiring as vice chairman and chief credit officer of BancWest, which is owned by France's BNP Paribas.
