WATERBURY, Conn. - Webster Bank has launched its first insurance-only marketing campaign.

It features billboards - tagged "If you love it, we'll help you protect it" - along highways in and around Hartford, New Haven, and Waterbury.

Webster entered the insurance industry in 1998 by purchasing Damman Insurance Associates, an agency in Westport, Conn. It has since bought two more Connecticut agencies: The Levine Cos. and Follis, Wylie & Lame.

Webster also will distribute marketing materials on commercial and personal insurance products through its insurance operations and all its bank branches.
