Wells Fargo & Co. will rename its Stagecoach mutual fund family later this year, said Michael Hogan, senior vice president of the San Francisco- based banking company's mutual fund group.

The renamed Wells Fargo Stagecoach Funds would retain the brand equity of the Stagecoach moniker while bringing the bank's better-known name to the fund family, he said.

"There is an awful lot of leverage with the Wells Fargo name," Mr. Hogan said.

Wells Fargo is the latest of several banking companies to add its name to its proprietary fund family.

The company plans to unveil the changes in a print advertising campaign and in revamped marketing materials.
