Veridian Credit Union of Waterloo, Iowa, is planning to offer its members mobile banking services using software from ClairMail Inc.
The Novato, Calif., banking technology vendor announced the deal Thursday.
ClairMail's software will enable Veridian's members to check their account balances, transfer funds and see transaction details with their mobile phones. They will also be able to receive alerts.
ClairMail said its software can work on almost any model phone.
"Banks and credit unions of all sizes recognize the benefits of leveraging the mobile channel as a new way to touch and retain customers," Pete Daffern, ClairMail's chief executive, said in a press release.
