IronStone Enters Kansas City, Missouri

IronStone Bank, a Fort Myers, Fla., thrift subsidiary of the $16.3 billion-asset First Citizens Bancshares Inc. of Raleigh, entered the Kansas City, Mo., area last month with a loan production office it plans to turn into a branch this quarter, a spokesman said Monday.

The $2.4 billion-asset IronStone also plans to open a lending office in Oklahoma City during the quarter and a branch in Overland Park, Kan., this year.

IronStone currently has 24 branches, in California, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Oregon, and Washington.
