JPMorgan Chase & Co. has hired another investment banker for its financial institutions merger and acquisitions group.
Tod Perkins will join the New York company this month along with Eric Warmstein, whose hiring was announced internally on March 21. Both investment bankers will be managing directors at JPMorgan Chase, which hired three senior investment bankers for the group last year.
Mr. Perkins said Tuesday that he left HSBC to take time off. He said he had known of JPMorgan Chase's financial services advisory group for years and started to consider joining the company about a year ago.
"They've got a lot of momentum," he said of JPMorgan Chase, which last year ranked third in M&A advisory worldwide, advising on deals worth a combined $147.2 billion.
In July, Mr. Perkins left HSBC Holdings PLC, where he had headed the depository institutions group for the Americas since 2004. He previously worked as an investment banker at Credit Suisse Group and UBS AG.
Mr. Warmstein had been with UBS since 2002. He previously worked at Credit Suisse, and from 1996 to 1998 was director of finance and corporate development at H.F. Ahmanson & Co.
