KeyBank Names Executive

MIDWEST

KeyBank, Sandusky, Ohio, has promoted Leon J. Wieber to president of its Firelands district in northwest Ohio.

Mr. Wieber, 49, has been a vice president in the commercial banking division. He is to take over the Firelands job July 1 from George R. Mayer, 62, who is retiring.

The bank is a unit of Cleveland-based KeyCorp, which Mr. Wieber joined in the 1994 merger with Society Corp. He had worked for Society since 1974.

Mr. Mayer became president of Society National Bank's Firelands district in 1987. He came to Society when it bought Erie County Bank, for which he had worked since 1961 and whose president, CEO, and chairman he ultimately became.

After June 30 he will be an adviser to KeyBank.
