Letter to the Editor: Another Driver for Taxi POS Resistance

To the Editor:

I'm not sure specifically about New York City ["N.Y. Taxi as POS: Simple Is Rarely So Complicated," July 16], but in some cities taxi companies hold funds paid via card. This also increases resistance to cards.

The driver typically has to pay cash to the company when the cab is picked up and if most of the fares pay with cards there can be a significant cash crunch.
