Longtime head of Pennsylvania credit union to retire

John Faust, president and CEO of Diamond Credit Union in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, announced he is retiring.

The $888 million-asset credit union said that Faust, who has been with the institution for roughly 36 years, including nearly 30 as its president and chief executive, has set a tentative retirement date of May 2022.

“John’s legacy at Diamond will be his leadership during a time of phenomenal growth,” Pat Austin, volunteer chairman of the board of directors for Diamond, said in a press release. “His dedication to the credit union mission has put Diamond in an incredibly strong position today and for the future.”

The board is working with the recruitment firm D. Hilton Associates to find Faust's successor.

“Leaving is bittersweet but the time is right, and I look forward to what is next,” Faust said in the release. “Next is spending more time with my wife Mary, for without her support none of the above could have happened; and being an active part of our four grandkids' lives. I am forever grateful for the support, respect, and encouragement over the years from all who have been part of Diamond Credit Union.”
