MasterCard Inc.'s controller and principal accounting officer, Melissa Ballenger, resigned Monday, according to a filing it made Wednesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
In her absence the Purchase, N.Y., company promoted John Sulca as an interim replacement. MasterCard did not say in the filing why Ballenger resigned.
Sulca has been an assistant controller at MasterCard since April 2009. He joined the payment network in September 2000.
