Mellon Names Condron To Be Dreyfus President

Christopher M. Condron to become president and chief operating officer of its Dreyfus Corp. subsidiary effective Nov. 30. Mr. Condron, 48, succeeds Robert E. Riley, 65, who is resigning, Mellon said. Mr. Condron will retain his current duties as chairman and chief executive of the Boston Company Asset Management and as president of Boston Safe Deposit and Trust Co. With the addition of Dreyfus to his portfolio of duties, Mr. Condron now oversees investment management subsidiaries with $200 billion in assets. Dreyfus, acquired last year by Pittsburgh-based Mellon, is the seventh- largest U.S. mutual fund company, with $75 billion under management.
