Metavante Corp. said Tuesday that its MBI Benefits unit has begun to provide real-time health plan cash account management services to Lighthouse1 LLP of Minneapolis, an online service that supports third-party benefits administrators.
Frank D'Angelo, the president and chief operating officer of Metavante Payment Solutions Group, said a plan administrator could use MBI's debit cards to improve access to information.
"Because our cash account management platform delivers real-time information to Lighthouse1, a health-care consumer can instantly know how much money remains in their account," Mr. D'Angelo said in a press release.
Lighthouse1's services include flexible spending accounts, health reimbursement arrangements, variable employee benefits arrangements, health savings accounts, and transit plans.
