Mitek Systems Inc., known for its mobile remote deposit capture software, is pushing a new service to support automated clearing house payments from a photo of a blank check.
The San Diego vendor has not signed up any clients to use its Mobile ACH Enrollment service, but some are testing it, Drew Hyatt, Mitek's vice president of sales and business development, said in an interview Wednesday.
"The primary reasons for a customer to drop off of the enrollment process is either they're not comfortable writing in the numbers, they're not sure which numbers to write into which space or they make mistakes," Hyatt said. It is more difficult to input that information on a mobile device because of smaller keyboards, he said.
