Mitsubishi Bank Ltd., Tokyo, has appointed Yasuyuki Hirai chief executive officer of its North American headquarters in New York.
Mr. Hirai, who assumed the post last week, was formerly general manager of the bank's corporate planning division in Tokyo.
He was Mitsubishi's manager of international capital markets in 1987-89 and general manager of the bank's international planning division in 1989-90.
In New York he succeeded Takeshi Yano, who is returning to Mitsubishi's head office in Tokyo to oversee the corporate planning division and public relations. He will also represent the bank in the Federation of Bankers Associations of Japan.
