NationsBank Appoints Chief of International Private Banking

NationsBank Corp. on Thursday named Charles Alzati market executive for its international private banking division in Miami.

The division combines the international private banking branches of both NationsBank and Barnett Banks Inc. The two banks completed their merger on Jan. 9.

In his new role, Mr. Alzati, a NationsBank veteran, will lead the unit's team of relationship managers who provide credit, fiduciary, portfolio management, and brokerage services to wealthy international clients.

"We are pleased that (Charles) Alzati, who has 10 years of international private banking experience, will continue to lead the NationsBank IPB," said Robert Shell, president of NationsBank Asset Management Group. He said that Mr. Alzati possesses "the skills necessary to combine the NationsBank and Barnett IPB groups into a cohesive winning team."

Mr. Alzati, who joined NationsBank in 1973, had served as market executive for NationsBank's international private banking unit.

He will continue to report to Eduardo Aguirre, NationsBank's international private banking executive.
