Natwest employee is charged in theft.

LONDON -- A 22-year-old British bank employee was charged on Monday with attempting to steal more than $30 million, police said.

Jeffrey Lennon, of East London, is accused of transferring the money from his employer, National Westminster Bank, to an account at a Swiss bank.

Police said Natwest got in touch with them after receiving news of the unauthorized transfer from the Swiss bank. All the money has been recovered, and Mr. Lennon has been released on bail.
