NCR Expands Retail Tech in Chinese Shopping Malls

NCR is expanding its retail technology footprint into four Chinese shopping malls.

The ATM maker — which also specializes in check-out and point of sale hardware — said the malls will be using roughly 240 NCR RealPOS point-of-sale terminals. Those devices were sold through NCR's regional retail distributor, Beijing Ankexinchuang Science and Technology Development.

The terminals will be installed later this year, NCR said.

"NCR's technology solutions make everyday [purchases] easier for shoppers by delivering fast, convenient shopping experiences, and for store owners and employees by offering ease of use, high reliability and low energy use," said Ross Checkley, NCR's retail vice president of the Asia Pacific region, in a press release.
