Acquisition and pension costs decreased NCR Corp.’s third-quarter net income by 82%, to $15 million from $85 million a year earlier.
Revenue for the quarter that ended Sept. 30 was up 17%, to $1.4 billion, from $1.2 billion, the Duluth, Ga., ATM and kiosk maker announced Oct. 28.
“We are winning business across our core and emerging verticals and exited the quarter with a backlog at historic levels,” Bill Nuti, chairman and CEO of NCR, said in a press release announcing the quarter’s earnings.
The company’s financial services segment, which includes ATMs, generated third-quarter revenue of $770 million, up 18% from $655 million.
