John Vella is again calling another nonprime lender home.
Last month he joined Bear Stearns Cos. as the president and chief operating officer of its EMC Mortgage Corp. in Irving, Tex.
Mr. Vella recently resigned from those posts at Aames Investment Corp., which he joined only last summer. Before that, he was the chief sales officer and chief administrative officer at H&R Block Inc.'s Option One Mortgage Corp.
Bear Stearns also recently made three other hires affecting EMC, which does wholesale and correspondent lending as well as warehouse lending, servicing, and troubled-loan work.
EMC got two executive vice presidents: Robert N. Pruett, who was Ocwen Financial Corp.'s vice president of international initiatives, business process outsourcing, and global mortgage origination services; and William Glasgow Jr., a mortgage consultant, who helped launch another Irving lender, Avelo Mortgage Co. LLC, last year as its first president and CEO.
Michelle O'Brien, a spokeswoman, said Mr. Vella, Mr. Pruett, and Mr. Glasgow were hired for new positions that reflect EMC's growth. All four hirings were announced last week.
