N.H. Bank Is Pressured

CONCORD, N.H. - New Hampshire Savings Bank Corp. said the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. might seek to terminate the bank's status as an insured depository institution if it is unable to increase its capital by $163 million by Aug. 17.

Reuters reported that the bank does not think it can obtain the required capital by the FDIC deadline.
