The State Employees' Credit Union in Raleigh, N.C., started an estate planning and will preparation pilot program last week.
The $21 billion-asset credit union said it has identified a series of lawyers who will prepare documents at a predetermined price.
The pilot program is to be available at more than 200 North Carolina branches and initially supply estate planning to the 3,000 volunteers on local branch advisory boards or the credit union's board.
Upon successful completion of the test, the program is to be made available to all the credit union's members.
