Northern Trust Promotes Execs

Northern Trust Corp. announced a series of personnel moves Thursday to improve its personal financial services for institutions and affluent individuals in the Midwest.

The Chicago company promoted David Blowers to president and chief executive officer of its personal financial services business in the Midwest. Blowers, who has worked nearly 30 years for the company, had been president since 2003 of personal financial services in Illinois.

In his new role, Blowers, who will report to Sherry Barrat, the president of Northern Trust's personal financial services business, is to oversee all wealth management operations in the company's more than 20 Midwest offices.

In addition, Ron Mallicoat was promoted to co-president of personal financial services in Illinois. He was the managing director of the company's personal financial services business in Chicago. Darrell Jackson is to remain co-president of personal financial services in Illinois. Mallicoat and Jackson both report to Blowers.

The company also announced it had promoted Carson Yeager to Midwestern states president, as which he is to manage all offices outside of Illinois and report to Blowers. He was managing director of the eastern DuPage County area and also head of the company's private banking department.

Jim Bridgman is to rejoin Northern Trust Midwest sales manager for personal financial services. He is to begin his new role on Monday. He was a regional managing director of Citigroup Inc.'s Midwest private bank. Before that, he worked 11 years at Northern Trust and eight for Aetna.
