OCC Names New Head of Career Development

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has named a new deputy comptroller in charge of leadership, executive and organizational development.

Patricia Pointer, who currently serves as deputy comptroller for human capital, will take on her new role on Sept. 18. She will report to Kathy Murphy, the senior deputy comptroller in charge of management and chief financial officer.

"Pat's experience in the human resources field, together with her experience with executive leadership training and development, will serve the agency well as we continue our focus on developing leadership competencies and successful organizational change and performance," Comptroller of the Currency Thomas J. Curry said in a statement Tuesday.

As the agency's new head of career development programs, Pointer will also advise the OCC's senior management on the agency's organization effectiveness and succession management plans.
