PayPal Inc. announced last week that it has been selected as a payout option for third-party developers redeeming Facebook credits, Facebook Inc.'s online currency.
The move is a result of a partnership between PayPal, a unit of eBay Inc., and Facebook. Roughly 250 developers use Facebook credits to accept payments within online applications, such as games that run on Facebook's website.
"The addition of PayPal brings a secure and flexible payout option that makes integrating the virtual currency even easier," said Carey Kolaja, PayPal's senior director of digital goods, in a May 26 post to PayPal's blog.
