On Wednesday, PaySimple said it would offer a customized version of its automated clearing house payment processing software for nonprofits. The software can accept money through the Internet, in person, or over the phone, and it can set up recurring donations.

PaySimple hosts Web sites to accept the payments, so the nonprofits do not need to set one up.

Nonprofits will pay a setup fee of $149, or $50 less than the standard fee for business users.

"As more and more industries are realizing the value of electronic processing, we're excited to not only have the ability to help small to medium-sized businesses, but also nonprofits trying to compete with larger and more efficient corporations," Eric Remer, PaySimple's chief executive, said in a press release.
