Piper Jaffray Hires More Bankers from Sterne Agee

Piper Jaffray has hired several more executives from Sterne Agee Group, as it expands its financial institutions group.

The Minneapolis investment bank hired Bob Hutchinson to lead the investment banking team for financial institutions, and Daryle DiLascia to lead capital markets for financial institutions. In addition to Hutchinson, Piper Jaffray hired three managing directors for its investment banking group, Michael Barry, Pete Majar and Jim Murray.

All of these bankers were previously with Sterne Agee. Stifel Financial in St. Louis is in the process of acquiring Sterne Agee in Birmingham, Ala.

Piper Jaffray in April hired several equity analysts from Sterne Agee to cover the banking, insurance and asset-management industries. In addition to the analysts Matthew Kelley and Matthew Breese, Piper Jaffray also hired Matthew Clark to cover West Coast banks, Peyton Green to cover Southeast banks and Brett Rabatin to cover Texas and West Coast banks.
