PNC Promotes Exec to New Job With Chairman

PNC Bank Corp., Pittsburgh, promoted Walter E. Gregg Jr. to senior executive vice president, a new post in the office of the chairman.

In his new role, Mr. Gregg will work with Thomas O'Brien, chairman; James Rohr, president; and Garry Scheuring, vice chairman.

Mr. Gregg, 55, joined Pittsburgh National Bank, PNC's predecessor, in 1974 as a resident attorney.

He was named assistant secretary in 1976 and was promoted to senior vice president, treasurer, and chief counsel-regulatory reporting and acquisitions in 1983.

Mr. Gregg was named executive vice president, finance and administration, in 1989.
