Processor Buys ATM Express

Payment Alliance International Inc., a Louisville transaction processor, has acquired the Billings, Mont., automated teller machine management service provider ATM Express Inc.

The purchase was announced Monday. Payment Alliance did not say how much it paid.

More than 500 ATM operators are ATM Express customers.

With the acquisition, Payments Alliance now handles transactions for more than 26,000 ATMs nationwide. It also handles credit and debit transactions for more than 35,000 merchants.

Payments Alliance offers merchants several services, including card transaction processing, ATM management, and handling cash and checks.

"This single source approach is right for our customers," Marty Ambuehl, the president of ATM Express, said in a Payments Alliance press release.
