A unit of Provident New York Bancorp in Montebello, N.Y., has brought on several new people for its wealth management unit.
Provident Bank announced Thursday that it had hired John Lynch, a senior financial consultant who will focus on clients in the lower Hudson Valley. Michael Desmond was hired as a senior wealth advisor who is responsible for the wealth management platform in the New York City metro area. Finally, Branha Singer was hired as a wealth management sales manager who is responsible for building the retail wealth management program.
Lynch joined Provident from Wells Fargo's (WFC) Wells Fargo Private Bank, where he was a senior private banker. Singer and Desmond joined the bank last year. The bank also hired two financial consultants in October 2012.
Last September, the $3.8 billion-asset Provident hired LPL Financial to provide broker-dealer services to support the wealth management unit.
