Regulators Called to Testify This Week

The Senate Banking Committee will hold a security, international trade and finance subcommittee hearing Tuesday on international cooperation in modernizing financial regulation.

Witnesses are to include Lael Brainard, the Treasury undersecretary for international affairs; Kathleen Casey, a Securities and Exchange commissioner; and Federal Reserve Board Gov. Daniel Tarullo.

Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke will appear before Senate Banking on Wednesday in the first of two semiannual update on monetary policy and economic performance. He will testify in a second hearing Thursday before the House Financial Services Committee.
